Almost Vintage Retro Style - Almost Vintage

Many things are almost vintage here including me!

I have actually just learn the definition of vintage not long ago from Vestiaire Collective. Goods have to be at least 20 years old to be qualified. The rest of them are called used or second hand or pre-loved. - Almost Vintage

The jacket I wore here is my very first leather jacket got in 2007 from Twenty8Twelve. It is still my favourite jacket after so many years. You can see the colour of the leather jacket is partially faded which I like very much. I think that is the beauty of leather. Same for the Lanvin Happy bag which I got years ago too and still one of my favourite bags. As much as I love the fun that new trends bring to us every season. Sometimes oldies are better I guess and you just need those few timeless pieces staying with us forever.

I am almost vintage for sure! Whatever you think I can possibly be, I am way older than that… haha I got two degrees, philosophy and fashion with two years art and language studies in Paris in between. How “young” you think I can be!? But let’s just say everyone is in their 20’s on social media! Now you know how much I love social media. 😀 - Almost VintageThe building is definitely vintage or you can say antique. I don’t know how many years the houses are. I am not the expert for them but for sure several hundreds. I just love all these historical houses in London. They are work of art with all the cultures and history in them. - Almost Vintage

The sweater, straight cut jeans and uni colour boots are new I got in these two seasons. But I don’t think it is hard to see they are all retro inspired style. The sweater with very wide ribbed hem is classic 1930‘s. I always love this shape especially with a bit of puffy sleeves and to achieve the classic retro look, I suggest you to go for the smallest size you can fit in or at least one size down. But of course this is my personal preference. Vintage straight cut jeans are the entry level of retro style if you would like to have a go with it. This pair I got is quite narrow legs and cropped with a twist touch on side seam. I think they can go with many body shapes and will look good on petite girls too. Sometimes these vintage cut, straight jeans can be quite tricky to pull off. The uni colour boots in red patent-like leather are clear 60’s influenced. I love them but they are old from last season Zara. I have managed to find few similar ones to share with you.

Voila now you see everything is almost vintage or retro here! And I talk too much as always!!

Finally, for those who read my last post about my operation… I went to hospital two days ago with my overnight bag. After waiting in the hospital for 3 hours, they decided not to “cut” me… I wasn’t in good shape to under go an operation. I had flu and serious hay fever. The decision was obviously for the good for me and I am secretly happy about it. Now I am going to be very “alive” in another two weeks or around until next operation schedule. But at the same time, I am going to be “scared” for more weeks… Waiting time can be even more scary than the real thing sometimes! :'(
