Jeff Koons Now

Do you remember I was talking about a cute place the other day on my Instagram? Voila, this is the one, Jeff Koons exhibit in Newport Street Gallery.

Gallery 1:

Confused? Yes! me too… Do I really need to understand or pretend to understand all the arts? Maybe Not, I will feel them if I feel them. If they make me happy, I sure like them! (ok, even if they make me sad, I will like them too. )

Now, there is a happy smile!

Gallery 2:

Even more confused?

“Why can’t I touch it?!” – If you wonder what I was thinking here.

It was a “torture” that I wasn’t allowed to touch anything and I really wanted to!!

It’s a Monkey btw and quoted by Newport Street Gallery, it is highly reflective: “it constantly reminds viewers of their existence, it’s all about you. When you leave the room, it’s gone.”

Gallery 4:

??? Don’t ask me. I probably won’t be able to answer you here but this tank sure looks cool.

Gallery 5:

Remember them from “Popeye”? Of course if you do, you probably remember his famous quote “I yam what I yam and that’s all what I yam”. It is my favorite quote from him and one of my favorites from all the quotes.

Gallery 6:

They smell ok.

It is meant to represent the giant version of  lots of clays together and made by his son and again it is not that thing you might be thinking and what I thought.

Now here is the part that made me happy and if you want to feel like a child again, you are at the right place. Be aware it’s going to be a lot of me!

Me in front of  the “Boy with Pony”. I like it when the title is so easy to understand.

I really tried very hard to be right in the middle here but apparently, I wasn’t.

Elephant! My favorite animal.

And of course I am not going to let this go without having a “shameless” selfie.

IMG_20160727_185544Titi is screaming “I am here too!” but well to me, sorry! Elephant first, always.

We are finally at the end of the exhibit and if you are wondering why there is no Gallery 3. You need to come here yourself. Photos aren’t permitted in that room.

And It is ok if you like or don’t like the exhibit. When it comes to art, I am not a specialist, but I believe unless you want to become one, you don’t actually need to read through all the guides in details trying to “understand” words by words. If you feel nothing then it is nothing to you even if you understand all the words. Whatever you feel is what you feel. But well again, I am not a specialist.

Now it’s time for outfit.

Printed Bodysuit (Mauve Version)

Faux Python Shorts (similar here)

Python Clutch (similar here)

Faux Python Loafers.

Next time, I will show you the restaurant of this gallery. x

    Hi its me Andrea,
love that post💕 I has the pleasure of visiting a similar Koons exhibition at the Pompidou a few years ago and I kind of liked it a lot. Totally agree with you guide books aren’t needed for a first view. You have to go and feel something and if you do than you’ll naturally come to read a lot of stuff. If you don’t feel a thing that kind of art isn’t for you!!! Have a happy Sunday and please keep up with that cool kind of work, xoxo Andrea

hey! I am so happy to see you here!
I was planning to start from just one post and then voila, it turned out to be 5 in one go and I really want to put all the holidays photos up soon and some other posts I want to do too… haha I am in the beginner’s mood I guess! 😛
and thank you so much for reading it. I am honored as I know you know art! Now I am blushing a bit. 😛
I really enjoyed the exhibit too even though I actually didn’t really know what the artist is trying to express through them but you are so right about the reading after. Indeed I went there knowing the blue monkey only and that’s all, but doing research for the rest of them after out of curiosity. anyway, thank you again! and good night! kisses xxx
