Purple Dream

Sorry my lavender field is “balding”… but I have finally made it to Mayfields Lavender Fields! This trip was meant to be in mid July but got cancelled few times and I got sick last minute, had to cancel again and then rearranged few times but never made it … blahblahblah … at the end I went there by myself with my mobile only! Can you imagine it was so complicated for me to finally go to such a beautiful place even though it was half harvested and wasn’t full bloom anymore (what I call “balding”) but still a beautiful experience. But if anyone wants to go, I really would suggest July or early August for a even better view and you can have photo with the famous red phone box in the middle of the field. When I went there, lavenders surround the box were harvested so unfortunately, there is no photo for that.

I went there by Ulber because the journey looked complicated on tfl journey planner. It was around 30 pounds from central London. It’s not bad at all especially if you have few people going together. On the way back, I took bus 166 to Croydon Station and changed to overground back to central London. And know what! It is actually super easy and straight forward, not complicated at all. So either way, it is quite easy to reach the lavender field and totally worth of the journey.

This called “so posey, so happy”. Thanks to Instagram, nowadays “posey” is almost a “virtue”, says me. lol

A crazy person running in the field! Sorry for the stranger A who had to take photos for me running around like a kid. But to be honest with you, I didn’t know what else to do there… This is not a complain, don’t get me wrong though, it is obsoletely beautiful there and almost a must experience in life to me.

Now the field looks fuller from this angle.

I think purple and blue go quite well together.

Closer shot of the flowers.

I am actually kind of proud to take these photos with my mobile… well, can not compare with the photos by professional camera. If you have ever seen that, those are the real “purple dream”! But I am happy with these non professional cute photos of mine. 😛 Hope you like them too.

Oops a complicated bald lavender field! It is still a nice view I think. It is green and natural.

If you ever go there, you really need to try these! My top choices are lavender ice cream and heart shape biscuits. They are seriously amazing! Ice Cream tasted a bit weird to start with as to me lavender taste is like soap but the quality and texture of the ice cream is so good that I queued up twice for the second one. There are other options like lavender cider, cakes, shortbreads, muffin etc. and of course, I tried them all apart from there was no muffin anymore. I was sad as that would be probably my second choice after ice cream.

Now outfit time!

Floral Blouse / Denim Shorts / White Flatform Sneakers

Nail polish: Nails inc White Horse Street New White Nail Polish

Thank you for finishing my blahblahblah again… see you next time then! x

Hi hi amazing and I love love love your style of writing. Its super entertaining 👍 Oh yes lavender fields. I desperately wanted to get some lavender field photos back in Provence and we visited Abbey de Sennanque to get one of those ultimate IG worthy lavender pics. But when we arrived all the purple magic had disappeared. The lavender looked grey and the smell had faded. I’ll definitely try again next year but than I still remember as a child when my parents wanted to take those lavender Provence pics of me. There were too many 🐝 and I was afraid of the 🐍. So I’ve never been able to relax enough to get a good pic of me in a lavender field… Long text … Happy Saturday xoxo Andrea
