This is not a typing mistake from Rimmel advertisement “get a London Look” lol but have you ever wonder what London style is? I think this can be a good subject to discuss since it is London Fashion Week at the moment. I am a foreigner who has been living in central London for decades, I can tell you for a foreigner, London style might be preppy style, Burberry Trench or super street style or all about craziness influenced by the well known fashion school, my school basically. It can be dull and uptight, can be super colourful and experimental at the same time. It really depends on your approach to this city. But from a person who has been living here ‘forever’, frankly speaking, it is not really fair and really hard to say there is a style called London style and i don’t even think London style is same as English style. This is a place full of foreigners, tourists, english from outside London and a very small amount of actual London born Londoners. It’s all about multi cultures here… But compare with 5 cities I have ever lived in, one thing I can say is London is a place you can be you, dress as you or at least the closest to you with the least judgetments and this is a place with open arm to accept the new things, new designers and new brands and that is the beauty of this city. So… what the London style is? It is your style!
During this London Fashion Week, I have a chance to team up with a new London born brand with Italian Heritage, ITTAG. ITTAG started its first scarf line last year with the passion of craftsmanship and design. With the designer’s family tradition of scarf production and experience in the fashion industry, the first collection is a combination of tradition and modern design taken inspiration from neon signs of the hotels and casinos from her Las Vegas’ trip. I love the colours, the simple lines and the clear graphic patterns which can fall into different shapes depending on how you wear the scarves and you can easily put one or more than one scarves together to create your own style. Here in this post, me and the designer decided to go for 2 super bright red on red and pink on pink combinations. It’s bald and can be brighter than I usually wear but why not?! It’s London Fashion Week. How would you style your own London Fashion Week looks? and what is your own London style?
